Welcome Support to Small Business

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) welcomes the Prime Minister’s announcement of a specific relief package for small businesses affected by bushfires.
The relief package will offer small business access to an extension of the already introduced grants of up to $50,000 for fire impacted business premises, concessional loans of up to a half a million dollars, access to financial advice, the establishment of local economic plans and tax relief.
Amanda Rohan CCIQ’s General Manager of Advocacy and Policy said the package will offer more than just financial relief to the small business community.
“This package will provide benefits in numerous ways. There is tangible financial help to small businesses, but it also recognises how essential the small business sector is to the long-term recovery of affected communities.
“Supporting locally owned and run businesses to get back on their feet, will allow them to keep their staff and give them recognition for the integral role they have in local economies.
“We look forward to continuing to work with all levels of government to support these initiatives, like that of the tourism specific program announced on the weekend, which will help all those directly and indirectly affected by these terrible fires,” said Ms Rohan
Any Queensland business affected by the bushfires requiring advice or assistance, please contact CCIQ’s HR helpline on 1300 731 988. Additional information relating to bushfires and other emergency disaster information can be found here
